Sunday Sermon: Fear of God

Fear of God / Fear of his father Isaac

If the God of my father, the God of Abraham and the Fear of Isaac, had not been with me, you would surely have sent me away empty-handed. But God has seen my hardship and the toil of my hands, and last night he rebuked you.”

May the God of Abraham and the God of Nahor, the God of their father, judge between us.”
So Jacob took an oath in the name of the Fear of his father Isaac.
— Genesis 31:42, 53 ( NIV)

Sunday Sermon: Test of Faith

Test of Faith

By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had embraced the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son, even though God had said to him, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.” Abraham reasoned that God could even raise the dead, and so in a manner of speaking he did receive Isaac back from death.
— Hebrews 11:17-19 (NIV)

Sunday Sermon: Defend Our Faith

Defend Our Faith

Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people.
— Jude 3 (NIV)

Sunday Sermon: By Faith Sarah

By Faith Sarah

And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered him faithful who had made the promise.
— Hebrews 11:11 (NIV)

Sunday Sermon: By Faith Abraham He Lived as an Alien

By Faith Abraham He Lived as an Alien

By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise. For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.”

”All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance, admitting that they were foreigners and strangers on earth. People who say such things show that they are looking for a country of their own. If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. Instead, they were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.
— Hebrews 11:9-10 , 13-16 (NIV)
